About Us

Our Story

Backyard Organics, LLC was born in 2004, was incorporated in 2006, and was the first company of its kind in Wisconsin. We are also the first Wisconsin Organic Land Care business accredited by NOFA, one of two organizations in the country that accredit ORGANIC LAND CARE Professionals (AOLCPs). The business was born from one couple’s desire for a safe and healthy lawn for their family, which contin­ues to be our driving force today. We have since grown to have a better understanding of the complexities of natural ecology and soil biology and how that relates to a healthy lifestyle.  The meth­ods used then and now are based on the lat­est information established by various organic farmers, scientists, and associations and are guided by the principles of NOFA.

Today, Backyard Organics, LLC is owned and operated by Todd Rockweit (AOLCPs) with continued support from his family, Tara and Emmaxia. Backyard Organics, LLC is also very fortunate to have assistance from professionals such as Jim Bosanny and previous owners, Klay(AOLCPs), Dan and Kim, in addition to the many committed individuals from the organic land care community.

Simple…create a safe environment for our families, pets, and the planet while maintaining a sustainable  natural ecosystems.
