Organic lawn care is a process it is not simply switching from chemical products to natural products.
First, you need to understand how organic lawn care differs from chemical. Our natural approach to turf management is based on a process, not just products that are applied for fast growth and green up or to kill weeds and pests.
Chemical fertilizers and pesticides change the way grass naturally grows and thrives. In nature plants take up nutrients through its roots. Nutrients that have been broken down into plant-ready form by soil micro-organisms. Man-made fertilizers feed the grass differently and actually weaken the plants ability to resist disease, drought and compete with weeds.
Pesticides are applied to fight diseases and kill weeds and pests. However, pesticides also kill the soil micro-organisms which are vital to plant health. Pesticides treat the symptoms of a problem; our organic process corrects what caused the problem.
Our organic program restores and enhances the natural growing process by building up the soil microbiology, developing nutrient-rich soil and promoting a deep root system. This process takes some time to get established, generally 1-3 years, depending on its current condition. If your lawn has been treated with chemicals repeatedly in the past, your soil will be basically dead and lacking nutrients and your grass will have to re-learn how to find its food.
Our goal for your lawn is to see improvement throughout the year, as your lawn transitions from chemicals to natural.
In time, by following our prescribed program, your lawn will become virtually self-sustaining. It will actually require less maintenance, meaning more time and money for you.
To maximize the effectiveness of your Organic Lawn Care Program we will design a program customized to meet the unique needs of your lawn. Our recommendations for your program will determined from our thorough lawn evaluation, customer consultation and a laboratory soil analysis.
